Adventures in iceland; The Blue Lagoon: Golden circle.
How to make the most of 3 days in Iceland! Iceland, the name literally speaks for itself, It is a land of Ice (so wrap up warm) and a stunning one at that! A world of white in what looks like heaven and fluffy clouds, which is why you MUST visit in the winter.I must admit the reason for the trip was specifically to visit the Blue lagoon but there is a lot more beauty to be discovered and endless fun to be had. First and foremost you MUST get a car (I went with no intention of hiring a car so trust me on this one). Apart from the…

Goodbye dry January – hello FIT FEBRUARY!
We binge and let our hair down over the festive period, over indulging left right and centre (and so we should) but then expect to click our fingers after New Years eve and suddenly loose a stone and be healthy-yogi-organic-vegan fitness fanatics. Well I bet 50% of people have fallen off the band wagon already? So lets try again. Who is joining me for FIT FEBRUARY!?? Because January was just a warm up! Yes I am a little late to the “new year, new me” party, but for me the 1st of January was never gonna happen. Not only was I still in New York mode but I was a…

New Year in New York 2017 #CityBreak
New York, New York so good they named it twice. It’s a universal fact that no place does New Years Eve like NYC, so I couldn’t think of a more fitting place to finish the end of an absolutely epic year (one of my most memorable to date) and embark on another exciting chapter of life. I am sure that summer here is wonderful in it’s own special way but I am glad my first experience was over the festive period. Bright lights, fireworks, lots of coffee and crisp weather, just like the movies. Here’s how I made the most of my 4 nights in the bigC. “We have touched down…

Hollywood Colour Blend #HairMakeover
“The HOLLYWOOD Colour Blend” it sounds very appealing doesn’t it!? I have known about this new innovative colour technique through Chinese whispers and recommendations for a while now! The creator Catherine Boden has become somewhat of a social media sensation. But I must be completely honest, I did wonder why people would spend so much money and so much time in a salon to simply get a colour, is it really worth it? I recently updated my all dark locks with a few subtle lighter blonde bits through the bottom which I have enjoyed for a change. I had come to the acceptance my hair is dry and brittle and…

The Fire & Ice Facial Review; Serenity Aesthetics – Hollywood fave
Cleansing, exfoliating, moisturising, drinking litres of water and wearing SPF 50 on a daily (rain or shine) are the main factors of my skin care routine. I believe in investing into good products and also allowing your face to have some breathing time, where acceptable of course! But with the winter gloom upon us and FREEZING weather creeping in, it’s a recipe for flawless disaster! The dry air steals the skin’s moisture resulting in a dull surface – I want my summer glow all year round thank you very much! When I heard that Serenity Aesthetics were offering the Hollywood favourite “Fire & Ice Facial” my appointment was booked, pronto.…

My Perfect Proposal; Venice-the City of love.
VENICE.Renowned all over the globe as the city of love and now I can not doubt that the rumours are true! Not just a dream destination that I have forever longed to tick off my list, no longer just an infatuation that one day I would be whisked off my feet like in the movies and wined and dined in this beautiful intoxicating city, but in fact my very own real life fairytale….That one night in Italy when he finally PUT A RING ON IT! The day that all girls (if we’re completely honest) often wonder how, where & when it will happen?? Well I can’t deny 7 years down…

Digital detox in the Scottish Borders: Yoga Retreat – Leithen Lodge
I returned feeling recharged and replenished after my escape to the Scottish countryside on behalf of HouseOfCoco! The Leithen Lodge Yoga retreat hosted by HotYoganic was the perfect way to get that quality “me” time, work on my zen, have a well deserved digital detox and simply reconnect with my inner self – mind, body and spirit. Let me start by setting the scene. Leithen Lodge, nestled in the hills north of Inner Leithen Scotland this grade “A” listed mansion is captivating and instantly transports you to the 1800’s. The surrounding woodland and grounds are oozing with tranquillity and filled with an abundance of wildlife, it doesn’t take long before you…

Vice & Virtue preview evening; Leeds Food & Cocktails.
I was very pleased to be invited to the V & V preview evening before it opens to the public this Saturday….anything that involves food (and cocktails) is a winner for me especially when I heard it was 5 courses!! Greeted on arrival with a passion fruit bellini = perfect start to the evening! Now I won’t bore you by going over every single plate, because the pictures speak for themselves and it’s making me hungry! (See below) But the food is fit for a Michelin star and my only complaint is that I could have eaten 10 courses – which when they open this weekend will be available on…

Positive Thinking: Change your thoughts change your life.
Change your thoughts….change your life “Oh you’re so lucky…you always land on your feet” is just one of many references that seem to be used when somebody is doing well. Is there such thing as luck? Do you make your own luck (I think you do)…. Or is it just different types of people that are either saying YES to life seeing everything around them as an opportunity and others who prefer to sit back in the slow lane and stay in their comfort zone where there is no magic happening? In my opinion If you sit back, moan and talk about others and are always negative then life isn’t…

My Skincare: Chemical peel before and after.
Thinking about getting a chemical peel but not sure what to expect?!! Have you felt like your skin is tired and dull and lost its sparkle? Well that is exactly how I had been feeling lately! Let me share my first experience – The Dermaceutic Cosmo chemical peel from Serenity Aesthetics. Now I am not claiming to have bad skin, infact I have good skin but just recently (maybe after hitting the 28 mark) I have noticed a slight few wrinkles & also dullness as a whole. After chatting to the nurses at Serenity I decided that a skin peel was something I wanted to try, I have never had botox…
