Hollywood Colour Blend #HairMakeover

“The HOLLYWOOD Colour Blend” it sounds very appealing doesn’t it!? I have known about this new innovative colour technique through Chinese whispers and recommendations for a while now! The creator Catherine Boden has become somewhat of a social media sensation. But I must be completely honest, I did wonder why people would spend so much money and so much time in a salon to simply get a colour, is it really worth it? I recently updated my all dark locks with a few subtle lighter blonde bits through the bottom which I have enjoyed for a change. I had come to the acceptance my hair is dry and brittle and that was fine. I expected that going even blonder would obviously do more damage, but the Hollywood blend not only transformed my locks adding an array of tones and depth that I didn’t think was possible – the condition was actually unbelievable, I didn’t even recognise my frizzy head! So yes believe the hype!

Catherine Boden has worked in the hair and beauty industry for over 15 years and has transformed the locks of a number of celebrities in the UK with a very impressive portfolio.  Based in Manchester she has a very large waiting list as I had previously enquired but changed my mind. I recently discovered the House Of Creation Salon in Ripponden quite accidentally when I needed an urgent curly blow dry for a last minute trip, and have been there for a weekly appointment ever since (you are never getting rid of me now). Both technicians Hayley and Jess are amongst the small handful of people to have been trained in this technique by the leading lady herself Catherine. As soon as I found out they could get me in the following week I decided it was worth seeing what all the fuss was about. I don’t mean to blow my own trumpet but I think the before and after pictures speak for themselves. I didn’t think my hair was in bad condition until I can now see what great condition it is in, it even appears longer and I have been asked by a number of people if I am wearing extensions! FYI I am not! But thanks I am flattered.

See the process in stages below & obviously I went for a Curly Blow dry for the cherry on the top:

I was in the salon for around 4-5 hours, it didn’t feel  it though as I was spoilt for choice with magazines, served endless cups of coffee and treated to lunch from the Stanley’s the local vintage kitchen which is delightful! (This is included in the service and cost.) The very talented ladies at HouseOfCreation are offering the “HCB” at a discounted price of £200 for the rest of December! It is 100% worth the time and money, if you break it down it would cost you more to pay out after 6 weeks for a normal colour which would probably have more damage on your hair. Anyway don’t just take my word for it, do your research and get familiar with this process for a red carpet ready mane! Because you are worth it!

The Hollywood Colour Blend ™ is a unique colouring technique developed to produce naturally blended hair colour with multiple tones, depth and highlights.

The process has several stages including strategically placed highlights and lowlights, blended colours, toners and glosses to achieve the ‘Hollywood Colour Blend’ look.

The ‘Full –Works’ process can take between 5 and 6 hours to complete this intricate hair colouring technique. The process begins by taking clients back to their natural root colour and applying blended highlights. After the ‘Full-Works’ and your hair transformation is complete, maintenance will only be required every 4 to 6 months for a top up.
